On one hand, China is more aggressive every day about dominating the East and
South China Seas with the petro and mineral riches in it. The PRC has stepped
up actions against Taiwan, the Philippines, Vietnam, Japan, and south Korea.

On the other hand, China has offered nothing but words against the U.S. war in
the Gulf region. Its main concern there has been to tell Iran and its proxies
not to harm shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. The PRC even said the Gulf
states should not be attacked. So much for the multipolaristas depending on
BRICS and an imagined "global South" alliance against Western imperialism.
