Gabriel Rockhill only pretends to dislike “Western Marxism,” his label for the fake Marxists of the middle of the last century. You can tell that he actually accepts the “Western” implication when he defines, “Western Marxism is the specific form of Marxism that has arisen in the imperial core and been spread around the world through cultural imperialism.”
Rockhill (who works with PSL) is a typical multipolarista. He can only see U.S. and Western imperial brutality and plunder, not monopoly capitalist exploitation. • He praises BRICS as if it were anti-imperialist (ICSS presentation, Sept. 8, 2024). • He speaks of “China and Russia, which are opposing fascism” – two countries that suppress their working class with bare knuckles (ICSS presentation, Jan. 28, 2024). Yes, the CIA waved the red flag to smother the red flag in the 1940s, ’50s and ’60s. Rockhill does much the same thing. Today many youth are socialist. The choice is, will it be socialism on the path to communism, or “socialism” with neo-imperialist characteristics?
