I have not paid attention to this conversation until now, so this is just a preliminary remark. Michael wrote,
" Marxists differentiate. In a war situation, where a semi-colonial or deformed workers state is under attack by imperialist enemies, we subordinate the slogan for overthrow of the government to that of the defence of the country. This is currently the case in Iran and would be the case in Cuba if the U.S. attacks it." However, Cuba has been under attack by the USA since the revolution in one form or another. Cuba depends on fossil fuel imports to generate electricity, and the USA has cut them off for months. The island has run dry. Now, the USA is threatening to kidnap Raul Castro after the spurious indictment for murder in the three decades old shooting down of two gusano airplanes. All of Latin America is on edge. The Joint Chiefs of Staff are almost certainly telling Trump to hold off until his war against Iran is over, and that is not likely to be soon, but Trump could still order an attack like the one that kidnapped Maduro, or even an invasion. Under these circumstances, defense of Cuba must be our priority. Anthony -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receive all messages sent to this group.
