Hoi David,

Yeah, I know, returning email is a pit of a problem for me, butt you
know all about that ;) .

DAR> What are you using for your SMTP server on your Windows box?
By 'SMTP server' do you mean the application that is seending email?
If so, I am using "The Bat!" but I got the same errors with Inbox,
Windows standard email client.

I have attached it.

See the messages.txt file.
DAR> - I also suspect that your linux box is having DNS issues
Well, currently, I am *NOT* running any named deamon. Is that a problem?
Because of my dynamic ip address I wanted to have a static url. I got
that at ".dyn.ml.org", a service wich has ceased to exist. So linux
box is called "fockhock.dyn.ml.org". What I did next was giving names
to all the win95 machines, because if you want win95 network options
set to use a specified DNS serverlist you must specify a hostname. I
named my machine "pim.fockhock.dyn.ml.org". And used that name both
for "TCP/IP -> Dial-Up Adaptor" and "TCP/IP -> NE2000 Compatible"
network settings.
And I updated the "/etc/hosts" file:
127.0.0.1 localhost
192.168.0.1 fockhock.dyn.ml.org fockhock
192.168.0.2 pim.fockhock.dyn.ml.org pim
192.168.0.3 jacco.fockhock.dyn.ml.org jacco
So maybe it's not a masquerading problem after all.

DAR> I'd also recommend to update your cablemodem MTU to 1500.
Well, they said I should set it to 1400, so I rather leave it to
that...
DAR> Also, who makes your cablemodem?
DAR> I've never heard of a SLIP-enabled cablemodem before!
Deltakabel Telecom, The Netherlands.
It connects by the cable that is used for cabletelevision. But it's
a shitty connection anyways, the first hop (my gateway) has a standard
ping of 400ms :( .

Hope this is enough information and thanks again for your precious
time.
