Actually what helped was resolving the address space conflict on the second
NIC
:) OOPS. It seems small netwok pakets like quick http bursts were fine. But
If I tried a large file it would choke like Smaba did. The network card
config
did not detect the conflict but I saw the initialized address of the sound
card
fly by when it was starting up and one of them was 0x330, and so was NIC #2.
So I manually changed it and lo and behold it works fine now. Thanks to
everyone who helped with this one. It seems using two nics is definately the
easiest/best way to setup a cable modem masq. And having the configured
properly doesn't hurt either. I guess I now know why it's called Plug-n-Pray.
Thanks again all.
