Go to http://metalab.unc.edu/mdw and look at the IP Alias mini-HOWTO.  Get
your gateway system's aliased interfaces working before you start trying
to configure masquerading.  Once that's done, the setup of masquerading
should be a snap.

Btw, whether you really want to or not, you should drop in the extra
NIC.  I don't know how intelligent the cisco router (read from another
post) you're using is.  It may or may not send local traffic across the
DSL link, causing any traffic not destined for the internet to slow down
your DSL connection.
