There is a null-modem inf file provided by Cisco. Here is a page that
describes using it for connecting with the PalmPilot:

Also, you can use the Direct Cable Connection in Windows 95 to connect
without a modem as well. It has that CLIENT CLIENTSERVER bullcrap as well
but you can use it to connect from pppd to that without many problems.
Except that Windows 95 doesn't do TCP/IP routing, so you won't be able to get
to other machines via the Windows 95 box -- except using other protocols
(NetBIOS and IPX/SPX) which it seems to route, or using a proxy etc.
