Aha, that's your problem. The NetBSD ISO is not ISO 9660; it's a hybrid
HFS/ISO 9660 combination. See what other options Apple Disk Burn gives you
for burn format. If you don't see something similar to HFS/ISO, pick
something that will give you an HFS partition zero, or HFS/anything (if
all else fails), but the CD must be burnt as a hybrid format to boot right.
If this fails, Toast works reliably and in fact autodetected the .iso was
a hybrid image right off the bat.
If you don't have/can't buy Toast, you're stuck with making your own pure
ISO 9660 boot CD. That's a bit bigger topic. There is also the possibility
of using a boot floppy, but we'll deal with that a little later.
