I've wondered about those USB adapters- my sister just got a cable internet connection. At first they wanted to use a USB connection, and then to install their own ethernet card. They ended up hooking it up to the on-board ethernet, which to me seems best. It's a beige G3, so it's only 10BT, but isn't that more than the maximum cable speed anyway? If they used the USB connection, wouldn't that both swamp the bus and tax the CPU? And, to make it on topic, do any of the *nices support USB networking? BTW, she's happy with it and I can hook my PB540C up if I feel like it- so it'll stay the way it is. -- Dana [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- MaX-list is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... / Buy books, CDs, videos, and more from Amazon.com \ / <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/lowendmac> \ Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> MaX-list info: <http://lowendmac.com/linux/max.shtml> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/max-list%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
