On the topic of emulation and such, I was wondering if anyone had found a way to do the opposite of Mac-On-Linux - run Linux in a vmware within OS X? I am getting so sick of wasting hours of my time fighting with fink and apt-get trying to keep kde and quanta up-to-date that I figured I'd be better off looking into running gentoo in a separate virtual environment within OS X. I googled for a while though, and came up empty-handed. Anyone else ever find something like this?
I'm looking into other emulators (than Classic) in my attempt to get my old M$ software running. Along the way, I started playing around with Bochs this morning, even though it's x86. It comes with a small Linux distro (1.3.x kernel) included, so I can say I've (technically) done it.
On the subject of emulation, it looks like Bochs and BasiliskII have come a loooong way since last time I checked them out. The OS X interface seems nice and usable. If I can get past the actual setup of the emulation, it should be pretty cool.
