Wish, I could tell you a keyboard command too exit X (eg.. Stop-a, but as far as I'm aware, macs dont have a stop key(lol). Or do they.... surely there must be something, to quit X and keep services going, if some one can tell you, thats what I would hit, then you could type "halt", and/or "shutdown" at the prompt. Otherwise, yes, you will be waiting like me for a dialogue to appear(nudging the mouse, with no response)... for hours... or as you suggest, maybe not, everything may fall into place once its up and running, hell, how would I know. At this stage, I would be expecting 4 dancing gerbils to tell you that "this hardware is not for you, your turning your harddrive into goo", in a singsong kind of way, a easter egg for trying, but that maybe due to the fact of looking at the screen, and listening to the drive click, buzz and skip, for too long.
