I've no idea about the Mac desktop (serious newbie with hardware issues before I can change that properly), but under standard X you should find that CTRL-ALT-Backspace will kill X and drop you back to the console. Well, it does on mine, but then I boot to a console and then manually start X- there's a chance that it will restart X and drop you to a login prompt if you have a graphical login setup, which I suspect would be the case on OS X. By the way, is there something on that web link, or have I missed something earlier in the thread? All I get is a blank page, although I do get a '605' icon delivered, so something is getting to me! -- Paul Tansom | Aptanet Ltd. | http://www.aptanet.com/ -- MaX-list is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... / Buy books, CDs, videos, and more from Amazon.com \ / <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/lowendmac> \ Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> MaX-list info: <http://lowendmac.com/linux/max.shtml> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/max-list%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
