What dupe checking? Has this changed past MD 1.2? I don't think so:

The "dupe checking" when not deleting mail on the POP3 server is not
checking dupe's but the UIDL of the mail the server assigns to it.
That is however broken in past 1.2 (and thats the reason I'm stuck
with 1.2) in the way that MD always downloads the old messages you
already have.
I'd say that a message you already have doesn't show up twice is not a
result of explicit dupe checking, but the same message giving the hash
value thats used as filename in the database.

This also explains what Harald is experiencing, ie. the same message
recieved on 2 (or more) accounts shows up only once. Given the
assumption above this is logical as all accounts share the same
database, so again the identic messages end up getting the same
filename so the one to the second account is found to be there already
in the database by MD and so is ignored as "dupe".
