You could just delete the UIDL file, like I do in YAM, you would get
your mail that way especially if you deleted from server first, but I
suspect you would also loose your newsgroup markers.

P.S. Sorry, I missed your comment about delete from server, that makes
even deleting the UIDL file probably useless, though you might want to
reename it to keep it and try it without delete from server.
