After downloading sb live liveware2.0 and installing it (28 meg
download) I found that the easiest way (so far) to record from a
minidisc to the PC via the line input (From my R30) was to use Cool Edit
96 demo. http://cooledit.com There are sevearl functions that it does,
but you can only use two at a time with the demo version. I was,
however, able to almost effortlessly record from the minidisc line out,
play the result on the computer, edit out garbage at the begining and
end and sometimes in the middle, then save the result as an MP3 file.
It looks like Cool Edit 96 can do a lot more than that, even with the
demo version. You just have to pick which two you want to turn on at a
time. The program seems easy to use too. Even though I have edited
with my trusty R30 and 520 deck, Cool Edit is even easier. You record
the selection, play it back, mark the edit spot visually, play the parts
and copy and paste into another instance of the program. This is with
the demo too.
I haven't played with the liveware2.0 very much, but it will be hard to
beat Cool Edit96.
