Some will find the Voiceguide irritating, but I pretty much immediately got
used to it. Besides, it made using it a lot easier for my father who's not
exactly technically minded 3#-)

Should the sun shine directly on it, you will still see the display quite
nicely, at least I think so.

What are my overall impressions? I've yet to find a better deck. The new
8970 is the same thing but it has Voicedirect which is basically operating
the unit by your own voice rather than diving for buttons. Personally,
that's a waste of time given that the rotary commander on the centre console
does a perfect job for me and still keeps my eyes on the road. The sound,
absolutely superb. Reliability, I haven't had to pull it out for any reason
3#-)

My only gripe, but it isn't the deck's fault, it doesn't take too well to
Sony MD's (TDK's are never a problem). So even though it spits out the discs
with an error and then reads them the second time around, the Sony discs are
to blame because I often get Disc Error problems with my JA30ES deck or even
corruption of songs (break-ups and stuff).

Nevertheless, I have no regrets ... it's an absolute beauty.

Adios,
LarZ

Hi,

I'm looking for comments on Sony's MDX-C8900 car MD player.

I'm thinking of getting it and am wondering what y'all think of it. Please
reply
here and / or via email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Is the "Voice Guide" useful, irritating, or both? Is the display viewable
in
sunlight? (I have a convertible, so I have sun on the dash a lot when
driving) etc,
etc.
