My guess is that we've had a batch problem here in Australia, and I seemed
to be the one to land a portion of that batch (as small as it may be). I've
got about 10 Sony MD's (all standard MDW's, not ES or anything special) and
they all give me trouble one way or another.

The voiceguide can be turned off. The display can be seen in bright
sunlight. (all dashes differ) All I own are Sony MDs, and they play fine
in mine. Not one error.. ever. And not one skip...ever.
