That all depends on bow you want to build the MeeGo brand. GNOME does
not sponsor conferences but we do attend many events under a GNOME
banner. MeeGo could aim to build a similar brand, in which case
conference attendance, speakers and a decent booth would be good
investments.

I agree with you that the over-head involved in sponsoring community
conferences as MeeGo, rather than as Nokia or Intel or BMW or whatever,
will be too high.
