There's more details on the Gitlab issue ( https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/meld/-/issues/73). How we deal with introducing users to such a workflow is a challenge. A GtkAssistant-style guide like you suggest is definitely an option. Ideally I think we could provide guidance in a more subtle, GNOME-y style, but I'm definitely concerned that things like the three pane expansion are going to be easily missed. cheers, Kai
