Chris,
There might be an easier way but i ain't found it yet. I looked in a pintara ws
manual and it said to use an sst, so i priced the nissan one $235 LOL. went to
Repco and asked if they had one; dunnydore one will do the job $135 LOL again.
Asked how you do it without the special tool. was told to wind worm all the way
in till the piston falls out. remove worm from guts of piston and
remove from calliper. refit piston all the way in with slot 12-6. Screw in worm
and refit lever. done.
The first time I tried to rotate the piston to wind it back in just as the sst
does. Because of the worm up the guts of the piston you can't just push it
back. The special tool (sst0 looks like a G clamp but has a 1" end on the
threaded bar that fits into the piston and then you are supposed to be able to
wind the piston in. Well stuffed if i've ever been able to rotate the pistons
with anything so i always use plan b and have never had a problem.
maybe there is a better way; has anyone else with R31 callipers changed pads a
different way?
