Diarmuid & Mick,

Oh dear what have I done. I humbly apologise for the "chocolate starfish
award" as it was obviously a stupid post that has been taken completely the
wrong way. I was so totally gob smacked last night when I read the responses
that developed as the first one from Diarmuid I thought was quite funny but
I had no idea that's what it meant or could have meant in other places.

I did not think that either of you were either a dickhead or an arsehole as
a result of your engine troubles last week and I was glad to help you out
and if you'll forgive me for my stupidity I will gladly do it again and I
promise no more awards.

I have worked at a couple of places here in Canberra that this award was
made at morning tea time on a Friday if anyone had put a component back
together the wrong way around like a head gasket or a timing shaft and I
thought I'd be a complete smart arse and pass it on - turns out not very
smart at all as I have found out. I had never heard of anyone taking offence
to it so I assumed it was in good fun rather than a total insult.

Terry (sitting on hands for a while with sock in mouth)

Sorry if my sarcasm was too subtle. (Email's not good for that sort of
thing) Where I come from "chocolate starfish" is slang for Arsehole and
thats the meaning I took from Terry's email. I'm happy to cop that after
my very average performance of emailing the list before investigating the
problem thoroughly. (Thats what I guessed Terry was trying to tell us
anyway)
Cheers,
        D.
