Brad,
It would be interesting to know what pistons John uses as the Nismo ones are
scarce? I might be in the market for an upgrade one day as my old L powered
girl still has the original factory slugs in it - who says Nissan pistons
are no good (shame about the rings) - over 200K miles of thrashing and
(touch wood) still pulls well into the 7000 rpm range.

Also I wonder which head he has on the L18W/1932, I couldn't be bothered
calculating the CR but the L18W/1889 is ~10.5-10.7:1 with the V912/A87BP 41
cc head so John's engine could be up in the 11-12:1+ region unless the
pistons are dished. I've often wondered what these engines would go like
with a FIA on top but I guess I'll never know as I'm not going to change
mine as it's just too reliable as it is and the power is "adequate" for a
round town and occasional timed lap thrasher.

regards
Terry

I have only got the info second hand, but Dave FERON reckons the Z18 crank
is lighter than the L18. I have never weighed the Z18 so I wouldn't have a
clue. As for bore size I heard 90mm, and that numerous blocks were
ultrasounded to find one with adequate wall size, but again this is 2nd
hand.

I will make some less than discreet enquiries and let you know!
