According to the nearest-Adelaide-has-to-a-newspaper (The Advertiser) he got
the car for $50 from the wreckers and spent $30,000 to get it happening.
What the hell is an H510 anyway? Or would he have just got a P510 and
entered it as an H510 so he could run the 1800? (sorry - I know the H510
has been mentioned before, but I forget the details...).

John Spencer comes from up here, lives near me actually. He won the Qld
Rally Championship in a V8 Commodore a coupla years agp. The Datto is an L18
with 90mm bore and Z18 crank, and was built as a copy of Dave Feron's
machine I believe (don't quote me though that may be wrong)
John can drive, and can set up a car. he has proven himself many times and
hurt many an ego.
