I had a similar problem on my L20b, which has a 30/70 cam and SUs. I found
out that it was caused because I had my idle set too high (950-1050 rpm),
the idle was so high because at 700 rpm the cam made the engine run as if it
was about to jump out of my engine bay. The reason, (i think) that the motor
keeps going when the engine idles so high is because there is more vacum
under higher idling speeds that sucks more fuel in etc etc (I hope) but I
set my idle lower for a bit and it turned off every time.
