Craig,
what did the CA18DET cost you they seem to be quite cheap these days?

I have some insider news on the results of the Formulae SAE-A that they
wont publish because they have already handed out the trophies. The
University of New South Wales was supposed to have won of the aussie
cars but at the end of the day after they had given out the trophies
which was before the endurance/fuel comsumptions test results were even
posted the RMIT guys were unable to find the officials(who'd left) to
protest about the fuel consumption results. It turns out that after
lodging thier protest later on the UNSW fuel consumption results were
found to be wrong and because of it RMIT should have won outright. They
were supposed to put the protest in within 1 hour but since there was no
officials there they got screwed.
I spoke to one of the Deakin guys that said they had not tested the car
before they got it there. It used a Yamaha 600cc and from what I hear
the engine model they used isnt very reliable. I know that RMIT had the
car ready only a week before. The Americans run their series in August
so they had heaps of time to fine tune the cars.
I got a free lunch and two FSAE-A free t-shirts out of it so I aint
complianing! :)
I'm told in America they have a system whereby after each run they have
to sign in saying they agree with the results so there aren't any
protests.

Craig.
