The Datsun 1800 sold here is called a Laurel in Japan and is a C30 by
chassis code. The four door sedan has a G18 engine. The two door coupe
(hardtop) is a 2000GX and has a G20 with twin SU's. The G series is a
crossflow SOHC, the 2 litre giving about 114hp. They do look a bit like a
510 but are a little bit wider and about 150mm longer. They have the same
IRS as a 510 but use a 240Z type front suspension with rack and pinion
steering.
We never got any L18 powered 510's here (or SSS) only L13, L14 and L16. the
L18 came in 610, 810 and 910 models as well as some 720 pickups.
