Malcolm,
Good SSS bits list that, here are a few additions
SSS had 5.5" steel or optional mags wheels (Einke) here so track is 51.4"
(+1" over Deluxe or GL)
The SSS suspension bits are the good stuff, fully welded A arms, straight
steering arms
Courtesy lights on all 4 doors and some had small red lights in the door
trims
Under bonnet light (never saw one with a boot light though)
Passing lights
Map light (could be Japanese spec not SSS specific)
Night & day revision mirror
Passenger side external revision mirror
Most had tinted glass (could also be Japanese spec not SSS specific)
I'm sure there are other minor things, you'll never build one up exactly
from a Deluxe or GL without a complete wreck.
South African spec SSS 4 door came with factory rear sway bar, different
badge on the glove box door and a parcel tray
Oz 1600's
'69 on Deluxe and GL had carpets (crap quality and no underlay - that's
right straight on metal)
Heater was standard equipment on '69 on and SSS
Optional 5.5x13 Minilite look-alikes - ROH Contessa
regards
Terry

Subject: Re: SSS 510 - info and pics wanted & 15" Skyline rims
Starting with the what a SSS is.
Super Sports Sedan,,(I prefer Street Screaming Special.)
All the supenison is different,Brakes are different.
Grill is the same as Deluxe, but their is a few grille option's in Japan.
All 4 door 510SSS's are L16,L18 was 510 coupe option.
The L16SSS engine was Far from STD L16,they had a Big valve head, early was
219
later model was A87,The A87 SSS head is the same as A87 L18.
The block is the same but the pistons are flat tops not dished, with the same
crank and rods(L14 Pistons says the parts book).
Brake booster was a option ,its the same as the 610 180B unit.
Gearbox is different,Diff is a 3.7 not a 3.9.
Dash gauge cluster has rev counter, clock, temp, oil, amps, speedo with a
resetable
trip meter.
Front seats are high back,The covering on the seats and door panels are
different,The door panel also have a chrome trim (plastic)along the
bottom,not
carpet like a Deluxe model, and not like Ozzie models with plain vinyl dooe
panels.
Carpet was a option in the 510SSS,One of mine has never had carpet.(Just
like
the 240Z)
I think in Ozzie you got rubber mats??.
The hood linning is also a different pattern.
The hub caps are different (I have two for sale if anyone wants two)Plus the
rims are about 1/2" wider
Some have a alloy trim between the tail lights,The big strip tail lights
were
coupe.
SSS badges on grille, side vents, and 1600SSS on the boot lid
All the SSS are Japanese made so they all have Chassis numbers stamped on
them,The body tag also reads 109Hp at 6000Rpm not 96Hp at 5600(or what ever
it
is)
Toatally a different car to drive than a Deluxe 510.
