Ashtrays in rear doors, yep I forgot them, the RSA SSS has them as well as
the little red lights. When I re-engineer my door trims I'm going to fit
them as they are way sexy, I'll have some fun with the loom again though but
I'll get them to work.
I've got the pass switch too, bugger to wire in the stock loom too and the
last time I tried I gave up trying to figure it out. I've seen a couple of
SSS with them and Eric's Malaysian? 2 door Bluebird 1300 has the real thing
and the map light.
The RSA dash has Amps gauge but without the sender it's not worth a cracker
although I think a Zed unit would work. The amp gauge isn't wired like an
aftermarket one, it uses the same idea as a factory tacho - i.e. the sense
wire is looped through a sender in the engine bay near the voltage reg.
The 510SSS booster is listed as a different part #, maybe this has something
also to do with using the 610SSS booster in a 510 stocker needing a new
pivot point to be drilled into a stock 510 brake pedal, but a 610 GL booster
fits straight up. I don't know about this one.
I threw in the Contessa's as they were a nice Aussie touch
The mirror changes may have also been an Aussie ADR requirement as the wing
mirrors were banned here (still are actually). The dealers stuck little
plastic bungs in the holes in the guards and fitted what looks like
(similar) to me as 610 SSS mirrors.
One thing is for sure, a SSS badge on a Nissan isn't the same these days as
it's used much like the US 510 SSS which is basically cosmetic stuff.
Your Japanese parts book should have the real list, how's you're gook these
days?
regards
Terry

Subject: Re: SSS 510 - info and pics wanted & 15" Skyline rims
Mag wheels aren't listed in the parts book as a option, but they do have
wider
rims.
Pass flash on the indercater is a option,(Only seen one)(I'm gona was a 240Z
one.
The under bonnet light is stock on all SSS's and Deluxe's.(all Datsuns have
them
here so its not specail to us)
Parcel tray is also stock on all 510's here .
The map light(in dash) was a option,Very rare part.(they must have been
doing
cost cutting, they all look like its missing)
Lights in the doors,NO they dont have lights, they have ashtrays in the rear
doors.
They all have front mirrors mounted on the front guards.(both sides).
The rear veiw mirrors are the same as stock ones.In all I have seen.
ROH Contessa wheels are made in Ozzie so they arn't a factory part,But
where
sold as new in Nissan dealers,in NZ too.I have 10 of these wheels and they
look
good on any Datsun,I know of two 510SSS that were sold as new with ROH
Contessa
Wheels.
red light in doors??,,I think you have seen the tyre sticker in the drivers
door,Thats the only red part .
The 810SSS coupe has door lights.
The :South African spec 510 SSS also has a real euro dash with a speedo in
Km's
and the ,oil gauge is KPA not pounds",The amps gauge is also volts(might be
the
other way around)Thats about all that was different, the interior of the one
I
had here was all custom colth with autosport seats.Under the bonnet was the
same
as Japanese.
What I say about 510SSS is what I see and have and the Japanese export part
book
says.
The Japanese market would have and did get loads of things we never got and
loads of parts not in the parts book.
I have two different grilles for a 510SSS that arn't in the parts
book.(someone
said once their is 14 510 grilles as factory and options,(I've got 6
different
ones)
I have most Datsun/Nissan parts books+ I'm lucy to have a Japanese 710 parts
book and a Export one. They got shit loads of tricky dicky bits, off hand they
got
LPG powered 710 in Japan and EFI petorl back in 1973.
