The brakes were identical to stock 1600's, right down to no power booster.
Most of the external changes were cosmetic except for the engine, which was
well detailed in an earlier post and suspension which was slightly firmer,
with wider tyres giving improved performance. Exhaust note had much more
"bark" due to a larger exhaust manifold, and exhaust system, plus a
(slightly) wilder cam..
Diff ratio was 3.7, which was stock for manual 1600's, 3.9 was for autos.
Gear box was a stock 4 speed with the sloppy gate mechanism. In the early
(72/3) L18 710SSS it was improved with stronger synchros, closer ratios, and
a better shift mechanism.
The best part is the Japanese assembled body which last much better than Oz
assembled ones. Despite this, I've seen two recently that have got bad rust
through neglect.
