Adam,

Getting the calipers off is a bit tricky because the rear springs and
handbrake mechanisms are in the way of the bolts, but if you use a 17mm ring
spanner and insert it down from the top you should be able to get to the
bottom bolt, and if you use a 17mm socket on an extender thing you should be
able to get to the top one. If that makes any sense :) The disc and
caliper should pretty much fall away from the axle then. Unhook the
handbrake cables from the joiner under the back seat cos you'll need those
(unless you don't have a turbo timer and trust your 1st gear :) Once the
disc and caliper are off then you need to take the four bolts out that are
behind the bit where the disc goes. Then if you havent got a slide hammer,
go and find a junk (ie too thin/worn) disc, bolt it onto the axle with the
skyline wheel nuts and give it a few solid whacks towards you with a regular
hammer, and the axle should just come straight out, letting you get to the
caliper bracket, (while being careful not to coat yourself in diff oil) I
wouldn't plan on using the disc after you've been smacking it around like
this..... and I don't think you need to take the disc dust shield thingermy.
Yes, that is it's technical name.

Just hook them up to the brake lines you have already. When I did my 240K
disks I went and got some little extenders made up so that I could get them
on easier. It's tricky to put the brake lines back on with the stock lines,
but tons easier if you have a captive nut on a bit of bundy tube. Cost
about $25 to do, it does make life easier, but it's not essential.

As far as I know any r31 skyline or pintara can be used as a donor.

Hope this helps!

- Tom

Terry,

Thanks for the tips. the only tool i don't have is a slide hammer, do you
think i would get away with a mallet?

Just one last question, what do you use to power the rear discs? Sorry if
this is a stupid question, but i have seen no mention of this as yet.

Cheers,
Adam
