Hi All,
I don't know much about intercoolers but I did read an interesting fact
about rocker (cam) covers recently.
According to my info a black painted cam cover will dissipate heat about 10
times more than a bare alloy one. I remember being very suprised by this
info and that's why it stuck in my head. I'll try and find the source to
quote. Maybe that is why so many (older) cam covers are black.
I can't understand why this is but I know black surfaces absorb heat (from
sunlight etc) better.

I wouldn't paint it at all or polish it. Maintain a bare alloy or brushed
alloy surface to increase surface area in order to assist heat dissipation

was heaps cooler than the original black. he paint stripped the black off
stick with plain alloy
