As andrew smith said, the head is kinda maxed out for a 2l engine let alone a 2.4litre engine, so pushing boost into these smaller valves and ports before that rpm point at which the 2litre head flow becomes a restriction can only be an advantage. anyone into turbos can tell you port and intake sizes are not as important on a turbo engine as it is on a naturally aspirated engine - the boost forces it all in. so repeating my earlier email - why don't you size the turbo so it is making +ve manifold pressure from as low in the rpm as possible and then all the way to when the head becomes a restriction (anything after this is pointless regardless). It would be a low rpm torque grunter, but isn't a l-z24 a low rpm torque grunter anyway?
