I had a cam in the old L20B that had close to 300 degrees of duration and only started making good power from about 4 grand all the way to about 7.5 grand. It was also reground to gain a little more lift than it orignially had. It was fun but the fuel consumption was something else. The car was quicker than most commywhores or falcons over a distance but off the line it could just about be beaten by anything. I guess it just depends on what you are doing to the engine, what you'll be using for and what compromises you are willing to accept.
