Rick, They are indeed insulated female connectors or at least they were when they left the factory but with 30 years of PO's playing with them who knows. I had grief with that fuse in a 1600 years back and I had to pull the whole dash out to discover the plug off the back of the cigar lighter had come adrift and it wasn't insulated.
