The lower control arm is what is pushing the backing plate onto the disc...  will it still rub and is that safe to run with out the backing plates ?

Thanks,
Justin

Subject: Datsun 1600 Front Struts HELP !!

Hi All,

I recently put some Datsun 200B Struts into my 1600.  I was told that they would fit but some 13" wheels wouldn't because of the big callipers.  Well my wheels fit and after some pain I have another problem:  The backing plate for the disk is rubbing on the disk on corners and some bumps.  It is being pushed on to the disk by the lower control arm I think.  Has any body done this mod before and if so did they have this problem or have they heard of it and do they know if there is any thing I can do to fix it.  I am going to have to go back to the 1600 struts if I cant fix this but I don't really want to because I have completely refitted the 200B struts (bearings, pads, disks machined, GT gas, etc..)

Any advise would be appreciated,

Thanks
Justin
