Jim,

Another thing to check is that your dizzy mechanical advance mechanism isn't frozen. Remove the dizzy cap and turn the rotor as far as it will go anticlockwise, let is go and check that it springs back to it's original position.

Terry

Jim,
Check your timing and advance retard vac line isn't adrift or leaking.

Check that the accelerator pump is working - take cleaner off and give it a few pumps and see if you see fuel being squirted into the throat it's working.

. Next thing to try is start the engine, hold the revs at 4000 rpm or so and simultaneously shove your hand over the throats and open the throttle wide. The engine will stall but I guarantee that if it's got any dirt in the air bleeds that will shift it, unfortunately straight into the engine. If that fixes it, then change your filters as they're past their prime.

regards
Terry

Subject: Flat spot

My L20B Stanza has developed a flat spot or hesitation when accelerating hard. I have a 32/36 DGAV Weber which I stripped and cleaned and put a carby kit through before installing 5 months ago. Ran smooth as silk but now has this nasty flat spot. No backfire or other symptoms, can anyone suggest a cure?

Cheers, Jim.
