Tennis racket, I like that LOL :) A 32/36 Weber with an adaptor for the original filter would be a nice 'sleeper' mod.

Terry,

Whats the origional size for the 1600 carby?  Do you think its worth me swapping to the L6 carby?  i want to keep the stocko look under the bonnet, so the tennis racquet has to say there!!!

Thanks

Chris,

Temp senders - The Niles gauge in a 1600 is Japanese, the only 200B sender that's compatible is off a 200B SSS engine and some 200B Wagons. Most 200B have VDO gauges and if you use the VDO sender with a Niles gauge it goes off the scale. Most 180B and 1200 with Japanese electrics (early models) have the same sender as a 1600.

L6 carbies are around 30/34, much the same as found Bluebird L20B but the L6 has larger main jets etc.

regards
Terry

Running a std carby on it for the moment, i want to keep the original look under the bonnet so im using the std filter and all.

It all seems god except that it runs on a bit, it doesnt ping at all, runs smooth, might have to check the cam shaft and make sure that i havent missed a tooth.

Also

anyone know the size of the carby on the 240K and 260C? apparently they fit onto the std 1600 manifold?  Any one got a good one in Perth they want to get rid of?

Thanks

Chris

Subject: temp sensors

Just finished installing the L/Z24 into the datto and even in this early run in stage im mighty impressed!  Got a few issues thou

1. She wants to run on after turning it off, the heads been decked about 2mm so im thinking is should retard the timing from the 10-14 degrees, to say 6-10 degrees?  sound good? also being a larger capacity (2.4L) ???

2.  Is the L20 late 200B temp sensor the same as the L16 early ones?  The temp is staying right down the bottom, if they are then its running in the nicely cool range, which i'd be happy with, its prolly about 3-4mm lower now than before (old dash style)

THanks

Chris S
