Hey Stu!! This is the facts from what I have found and done with 510's. Fitting a L20B in a 510 is piss easy but their is a few little things to watch for. You have done the right thing all the 510 sump's engine mounts are the same and use 510 parts here. Now the rocker cover,,if the engine looks like its sitting funny and the front is up its not fitted right!. Park your car on a flat space and remove the drive shaft. get the tape measire and measire from the centre of the diff head flange to the ground,Now the gear box should be about the same.At the centre of the output shaft.
I have found if a 5 speed is fitted using a 72 crossmember is a pain and spacers are needed to lower the end of the gear box ,but using a 69 gearbox crossmember and the steel spacer plates off the 72 crossmember works mighty fine. Now your cam cover will not hit the bonnet.. The other thing to do is use a 68-69 cam cover as they are lower in height than the L20B one.
