Just sorted out a similiar ignition problem on my Fix Or Repair Daily Longreach ute. Had intermitent miss at idle (after "choke" off). Sometimes would stop with thump from motor when starting. Was like it would hydraulic on a dead cylinder. Would stall at times when driving. Would cruise, but extreme engine miss under pressure. plugs looked good. Anyway, it turned out to be a plug breaking down under pressure and the carbon plug in the dissy cap was knackered. Apparently EFI motors are real sensitive to sus spark plugs. Same probs can also effect our dattos. Might be of help to someone.
