I liked merb because it didn't force me down a certain path.
Now I want to do things with even less restriction or "stuffing around" is a
better way to describe it.

I've been using sinatra - doesn't get much simpler than that, works with
anything as there is no bootloader determining what can and can't be done (i
don't have the knowledge to hack on this sort of stuff). As such some people
who were also using sinatra came up with padrinorb.com - I find it awesome.
Sure it doesn't have all the plugins etc that rails has.

Either way Merb is going to be around for a while as people do like it and
are using it - they just aren't as numerous as those working on rails, thus
public contribution is lower.

Pick something that suits your needs and go with it. None of the 3 (rails,
merb, sinatra/padrino) is "better" than the other, they approach a problem
with a different focus/requirements - as determined by those working on
them :)

I've picked padrino - because the admin generator saves me time in the two
projects I'm working on atm. Who knows, next project I might choose Rails.
