Have you checked the steering damper? Hank ----- Original Message ----- From: Jon Kanas To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, July 20, 2005 9:34 AM Subject: [MBZ] "Wiggly" rump.....
Good Morning Listers, The subject of the wiggling is a 1988 300TE with slightly over 200K miles on it. The symptom is that under very hard acceleration the rear end of the car has a slight, but nonetheless disconcerting lateral "wiggle" when the transmission shifts hard. It is most noticeable between 2nd and 3rd. I have performed a visual inspection of the rear suspension, and don't see anything obviously loose or worn. The flex disks have been replaced, and still feel firm and tight. I did a front end alignment when I purchased a new set of Nokian tires as there was some evidence of a toe problem on the old Michelins. Does anybody have any idea what might be causing the unwanted wiggle, and a good cure? -- Best Regards, Jon B Kanas Longmont, Colorado; Cultural Center of the Universe Home: 303-678-0658 Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Website: http://www.qadas.com/~kanas AOL Instant Messenger ID: KanasColo ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________ For used parts email [EMAIL PROTECTED] For new parts see www.buymbparts.com For repairs see www.oldworldauto.com To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://striplin.net/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_striplin.net
