I wonder if it's feasible to temporarily change the hookup of the
indicator light to the relay so the light glows when the plugs glow
instead of going out when it's time to start.
An easier solution would be to add a light emitting diode (LED) in series
with a resistor in one of the empty "holes" at the bottom of the
instrument cluster and wiring that across the output of the glow plug
relay to ground.
