Unfortnately, normal people are unwilling to allow themselves to be publically villified by the media - having every tiny indesretion and youthful mistake blown all out of proportion in the public forum. And it's a forum that doesn't allow normal people to explain what happened once the media have come up with a possible story.
No wonder we get the kind of vermin we seem stuck with year after year - true, the media are supposed to keep us informed but they have bastardized their job. . Often the same crooks are re-elected over and over again because no one is running against them because the deck is stacked against the newcomer. How about letting the people wishing to challenge the incumbant should be funded by a special pot of gold - and refusing the incumbant politician from using his ofice to campaingn - . I guess term limits is what I'm advocating. I kinda lean toward single terms for all politicans but fear we'd have empty offices. Then again, that would probably be the very best thing to ever happen to this population! A year of 2 without enough politicians to pass any legislatiom/ Then the public would see how unnecessary the politicians really are. Need a budget to keep the rest of govt going?
