I owned an Arabian gray/parchment tex 1970 European 280SE with AC and PW, no
s/r, followed by a tobacco brown/cognac leather (burlwood) 1971 300SE L 3.5
sedan. I restored them to concours winning condition and loved them both.
The 3.5 engine was extremely smooth and powerful, and the air suspension was
quite luxurious. They both had 4 speed ATs, compared to the 3 speed
transmission in the 280SE 4.5 sedans.
