The very early Dodge Omnis / Plymouth Horizons used the entire VW engine

be like Wile

Never saw a Mitsu in an L, M or Z body(Omni/Rampage/Charger). VW was only
engine until
the 2.2 Mopar option in 1982, was standard engine until the Peugot 1.6
replaced it in
mid 1983, I think it was the same time they changed the shape of the
fender and A pillar.
In 1987, they dumped the 1.6 and made the 2.2 standard, in 1988 it got
fuel injection.
There was an Omni GLS or GLH-S and Shelby Charger with turbo 2.2 from
1985-1987.
1990 brought rectangular mirrors and airbags, not many 1990s made before
it was
discontinued in February.
I used to want to get a rustfree Rampage or Plymouth Scamp and put the old
turbo VW diesel
in it. Should be relatively straightforward with motor mounts, axles &
shift linkage from
an early
VW engined Omni.
