My 1983 300TD with 276 K miles has suffered diminishing fuel economy over
time (more accurately, I have been doing the suffering). Now, I get about 20
mpg in typical stop and go city driving, with the occasional 10 mile
interstate cruise thrown in for good measure. 10 years ago it was more like
24 mpg although this probably involved somewhat more highway driving.
The car operates flawlessly otherwise. Is there anything I can do to get
back to 24 mpg?
