I think they are referring to an early "H" model, as opposed to a
later "H," not that an H is a early B-52. That is ludicrous, as you
point out. Based on the other models, I looked at, this was the
pattern, that "Early" refers to Early in a particular designation, as
in "Early P51D" being later than a "Late" P-51C.
