Hey Larry,

Just wanted to say, tried the suggesting you and Wilton used, to swap files
from and old HD over to my new pc. Was a snap. Stuck the drive from the
old pc running Win 98 into an external, plugged it into my newish Vista
machine, and few mins later, all done. I spent hours messing with memory
sticks, trying to find drivers for old 1.0 USB connects, etc.

Great idea, so thanks again to you and Wilton. Wonder if I can drop all the
old HDs from my Macs into the external, and dump the mp3 movies from those
drives, onto a pc machine? One way to find out. lol

Hi Mitch -
Preparing to try SP3 - while looking for SP3, I came across this link
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950722 where it tells of MS Key
recognition problems. But I hope I'll find a way around it. See what you
think --

Hi Mitch - so you are saying SP3 contains the drivers and SP1 does not?

I'm saying SP3 (and I believe SP2) can handle a hard drive > 130GB. I
don't know if that's part of your problem or not.

 Can I skip slipstreaming SP1&2?

As far as I know, if you download the full SP3, which was 200+MB, and
slipstream it to an install disk, the result is a full install disk with all
updates through SP3.

I don't know about nLite, I think that software automated the slipstream
process or most of it. I just did it manually with the instructions here.
http://www.howtohaven.com/system/slipstream-xp-service-pack-3.shtml
After I send this, I'm going to disconnect my existing XP and Vista
drives, and try to install the slipstreamed XP on my new 1TB disk.
