I would suggest taking the car to one of the places that installs tinting. I
assume they have some means of removal
that would be much easier than you doing it yourself. We had one of the windows
on the now gone Toyota Avalon
redone at the tinting place as it got damaged. They stripped and replaced it in
a very short time so they must know
how to do it better than us. Maybe you can get a lesser tint applied that will
pass the test. I think my younger
son had the tinting replaced on one of the truck windows too as it was starting
to peel off.

Subject: [MBZ] Removing window tint

Well, this morning DC motor vehicle inspection got me big time. :(

I was told to REMOVE all the window tinting on my 85 300TD wagon to comply
with their rules & regulations. Major bummer. Has anyone BTDT and can
recommend a plan of action for me? There are a grand total of 7 glass panes
that I must scrape and treat, including the rear hatch glass. The latter is
my biggest concern - I don't want to break any of the sensor wires.

Thanks in advance,

Andrew
