Why does everybody keep talking about "battery disposal"? Car batteries are
worth $5 EACH at my local scrap yard... Last time I replaced the battery in my
190D the kid forgot to charge me for the core and the scrap yard gave me $10
for it...

yes, i do.
in this case, the fact that the seller is using a battery that even
the battery manufacturer doesn't recommend for that application is just
another clue of how that car was (or wasn't) being cared for; combined
with all the other clues it all adds up to a car that is likely to be
some (other) buyers problem.

priced CDs? yes, i've kept an eye on them for years,... the ones
worth buying are worth considerably more than this one, but they're also
usually turbos, and in considerably better shape.

to get an MB battery you'd just have to call the MBZ Roadside
Assistance number that's probably still on the sticker that should still
be on the inside of your glove box. 45 miles should be a non-issue for
them, and you should only have to pay the same cost for the battery as
if you'd gone to the dealer, and you'd get a charging system test and
battery disposal out of the deal as well.

cheers!
